How many kilos of luggage you will take with you, the route you will take to the camping and when you plan a stopover. At the camping it is ideal to have your own car, so you can decide where you want to go that day, so you don’t have to be depending on someone else.
At almost every Roan camping it is possible to park your car next to your mobile home or tent.
A holiday by car is in a lot of cases cheaper than travelling by plane with the whole family. Definitely in peak season!
A few important tips for a holiday by car:
- In France there are a lot of roads where you have to pay for toll. You can only pay by creditcard or cash.
- In France an Emission sticker is mandatory
- Are you traveling through France, Germany, Austria or Switzerland and are you using a navigation device to determine the route? Make sure you turn off the speed camera signaling, this is forbidden in these countries. ( In some countries it is even forbidden to have it installed on your device)
- A holiday by car in France does also mean to have unused 2 alcohol tests in your car. This is mandatory.
- On bicycle carriers and trailers with a white number plate, you have to put a sticker on it with a sticker of your country. (GB or IRL)
- Are you travelling through Switzerland, Austria and/or Slovenia, then you will need a vignette
- You can buy these at the borders.
